REHEARSAL  SCHEDULE

At Leach Theatre, UM-Rolla (Castleman Hall)

Please note your child's time.  I know you will have to make special arrangements for those rehearsing, so I wanted to give you plenty of notice.  All students MUST be at the rehearsal in order to be in the recital!  Regular Dance attire…no costumes!

**Parents… there is a lobby to the theatre for you to wait and visit in.  We found last year, having parents in the rehearsal was a bit of a distraction to the students.    Rehearsal is going to be closed this year, so we can have the students’ complete attention.

I will stay as close to this schedule as possible!  If we finish early, then students can leave early.  This is a rehearsal atmosphere and needs to move promptly to ensure everyone knows what is going on!  I really stress professionalism when putting on a show, and I greatly appreciate your support on this!  Those parents that stay, please wait in the waiting room until your child is finished.  Students should not be running in and out and all around.

CONCERNING ACRO… Acro will have rehearsal AT THE STUDIO on Tuesday, May 27th-

  • Wed 5:00 & Mon 5:45 Acro will rehearse at the studio on Tuesday, May 27th from 5-6. 
  • Mon 6:45 & 7:30 Acro will rehearse on Tues, May 27th from 6-7

Dancers need additional props for the recital...
WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING?
The following is a list of additional items needed for the recital based on your class’s musical theme.

  • Mon 4:45 class will need to wear pajamas for their ballet piece along with their ballet dance paws.  Jazz/Tap they wear their red polka dot outfit.  See your class mom (Jenny Lackey) for the ties for your tap shoes.
  • Mon 5:45 class will need either black capris or black tights that can be pulled up to be capris & a black leotard for their ballet “CATS” piece.  If you do not have a black leo or can’t find one, I will order March 15th for anyone who would like  me to.  Cost is $20.  Just sign up in the office.  They also need a basketball for their tap piece.  Please bring bball as soon as possible.
  • Mon 6:15…we have all there props…hats & canes.
  • Tues 5PM..we have lollipops for you to use.
  • Tues 5:45PM will need to bring an umbrella to dance to practice with and for the recital for your tap..”Singing in the Rain”
  • Tues 6:45 are making tutus for ballet.
  • Wed 4:00 class will need either black capris or black tights that can be pulled up to be capris & a black leotard for their ballet “CATS” piece.  If you do not have a black leo or can’t find one, I will order March 15th for anyone who would like  me to.  Just sign up in the office. 
  • Wed 5:00 Project dancers will need either a wooden baseball bat or glove for your tap piece.  You will also need baseball pants, socks and a tank that matches your pants.
  • Wed 6PM Company will need a cookie sheet and 2 wooden spoons, an apron, capris and a tank.  We can order the aprons all together if you don’t have one for $7.  They are going to decorate them.

ALL CLASSES THAT LEARNED THE HIP HOP ROUTINES AND PERFORMED THEM….you MUST bring your black tank and black pants to the recital to perform your hip hop routine. 
If they do not have the costume, they will not be able to perform.  If it is a problem getting these items, please let me know by April 1st so we can figure something out.  Don’t get anything expensive.  Borrow.  Resale shops.  Look for cheap and reusable!

RECITALS WITH DANCE EXPRESS
Dance Express holds one annual recital at the end of May. All of the dancers are invited to participate in the recital. Costumes are selected in the late fall/early winter and arrive in the spring.
Our dance recitals are held at UM-Rolla--Castleman Hall. We will have two shows.
Parents have the OPTION every year to purchase picture packages and to have photos taken of their children in their recital costumes. Miss Lisa always assists at each photo shoot with each dancer to make sure they have the best pose and smile to make an excellent picture. We always use Carey Moritz-Unique Photos and prices are given out in early spring. Group pictures will also be available.
